Chile launches tender for Valparaíso rehabilitation center
The architecture office of Chile’s public works ministry (MOP) launched an 18.1bn-peso (US$18.2mn) tender to build a new center for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities for the Teletón foundation in Valparaíso.
The new 5,166m2 complex will have five levels, with two of them underground. Funding will come from MOP and the Valparaíso regional government, documents from investment project database BIP show.
The foundation says the current Valparaíso building is over 40 years old and is no longer suitable to attend the 3,300 patients it receives each year.
Technical bids will be opened on June 18, while economic offers will follow suit on August 7. Bidding documents will be available on procurement website Mercado Público using the code ID 822-16-LR24, although as of the time of writing, they had not been uploaded.
