Chile launches tender for works at US$4bn port project
Chilean state port firm EPSA issued a call for expressions of interest in the breakwater and complementary infrastructure works for the future large-scale San Antonio port in central Valparaíso region.
The works entail the construction of a 4km breakwater, dredging 14Mm3 of material in the future dock area, and road and rail access roads, among other things, EPSA said in a release.

The overall US$4bn project entails building two docks of 1,730m each, four terminals – two on land and another two in an outer harbor – and the 4km breakwater. Once completed, the port is expected to be able to handle 6mn TEUs annually.
Environmental evaluation began in 2020 but the process is suspended until year-end as EPSA is working on responses to observations and complementary amendments to the project’s environmental impact study.
