Chile publishes transmission project construction terms, receives technical offers in separate tender
Chile’s energy ministry provided details on 20 transmission projects awarded for a total of US$27.3mn.
The portfolio comprises 12 new builds and eight expansions. Winners were announced in November.
The project construction periods range from 18 to 60 months.

The new builds encompass 66kV, 110kV, and 220kV transmission lines along with various substations, according to information in the government’s official gazette. The biggest single project, for US$2.56mn, is the Baja Cordillera substation.

OTHER TENDERING PROCESSES
Grid coordinator CEN has two other tendering processes underway.
Last week 13 parties submitted technical bids for expansion projects that make up a US$162mn portfolio, corresponding to decrees No. 185 and No. 171. Economic bids are due to be opened June 29. The biggest lot, with a reference price of US$33mn, corresponds to expansion work at the Entre Ríos substation, owned by Transelec.
Technical bids for another portfolio, of new build and expansion projects corresponding to decrees No. 229 and No. 185, are due June 30. Economic bids are scheduled to be opened September 6. Estimated associated outlay is US$300mn.
