Chile’s Enami signs a proposal to jointly explore with Rio Tinto
National mining company Enami has signed a proposal for an exploration agreement with London-based Rio Tinto to jointly explore Cerro Cumbre in Chile’s northern Antofagasta region.
“If Rio Tinto got positive results within the exploration phase we could have a good business model, but if exploration results don’t satisfy Rio Tinto’s prospecting horizon, the exploration data will increase our property value, and under certain conditions we could generate a development at a different mining scale,” Enami development and innovation manager Andrés Rovira said in a press release.
Enami has divulged details on a schedule or investment.
