Chinese to help Nicaragua develop 500MW in projects
Three power projects in Nicaragua for a combined 523MW will receive support from China Huadian Overseas Investment.
Ernesto Martínez Tiffer, head of state power company Enel, provided the information following this month’s signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese group for hydros Mojolka (120MW) and Tumarin (253MW), and 150MW of thermal in San Benito.
Mojolka would take five years to complete and Tumarín around seven years, he added.
The deal was inked in Beijing during the third forum of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
