Cirion launches PoP in Limeira to meet growing demand from local market
This is a machine translation of Cirion's press release
São Paulo, June 18, 2024 - Cirion Technologies, a leading provider of digital infrastructure and technology in Latin America announced the opening of a new Point of Presence (POP) for its network in the city of Limeira, São Paulo state.
With the new POP, which adds to the more than 550 already existing, of which 125 in Brazil, customers in Limeira and the region can directly access Cirion's backbone, reducing the need for investments in interconnection networks and improving quality conditions and latency of your networks. This is great news for the market in general and a long-standing demand from local ISPs (Internet Service Providers).
Cirion's backbone extends over more than 90,500 km, including terrestrial and submarine fibers, crossing Brazil from north to south and connecting more than 20 countries in Latin America and more than 160 data centers, 18 of which are its own data centers.
José Eduardo Leão de Freitas, director of fiber products at Cirion Brasil, reinforces the company's commitment to the region: “Our purpose is to promote the development of Brazil and Latin America through technology. Local Internet service providers are a powerful player in this challenge, helping to bring a now-essential service to businesses and people across the country. With our new POP, we simplify costs and management for these providers, facilitating the region’s development.”
