The telecommunications company Claro and the technology firm Microsoft have signed an agreement that will offer both business and residential customers a direct, geo-redundant and optimized connection route to Microsoft Cloud services and applications.
This alliance guarantees customers connectivity with high reliability, performance and minimal latency.
Virgilio Castillo, Claro's Vice President of Management and Development of Solutions, Interconnection and International Services, stated that this is an unprecedented agreement in the country, since both Claro and Microsoft join their networks to make available to all their clients a direct link of fiber optics that will facilitate world-class internet connectivity.
Castillo said that “this union makes Claro the first and only Microsoft partner in the country to have this type of direct connectivity, which translates into great benefits for all our customers, since network latency is automatically reduced by up to 50 percent, to reach the applications that are in the Microsoft cloud”.
Likewise, Herbert Lewy, regional manager for Microsoft Caribbean, applauded this alliance and highlighted that "we hope to take advantage of the breadth of Claro's network, its connectivity capabilities and professional services, together with Microsoft's focus on intelligent services in the cloud , enable a modern work experience and respond to the coverage that organizations currently require for effective virtual collaboration.”
“In the accelerated context of digital transformation that we are experiencing, the use of cloud technologies is essential to improve the capabilities of people and organizations. In this sense, the alliance with Claro allows us to ensure that the services that our clients, both public and private, are going to receive, are used in the best possible way”, highlighted Lewy.
Also present during the activity were Ana Patricia Mejía, Partner Developer Manager of Microsoft Caribbean, and Claro, Juan Pablo Romero, Vice President of Network Engineering, Omar Acosta, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Licelott Brea, Business Marketing Manager , Elizabeth Moreno and Michael Garcia.
