Claro expands portfolio and starts offering card payment machines
This is a machine translation of Claro Brasil's press release
São Paulo, June 24, 2024 – With the aim of offering an increasingly complete experience for its customers, Claro reinforces its product portfolio with the option of a card machine from Bin, Fiserv's own acquiring brand. The offer, developed in partnership with Fiserv, a global leader in payments and financial technology, and made possible by Claro Pay, is available from this Monday (24) to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in Belo Horizonte, with gradual expansion to the entire Brazil until the end of this year.
The new feature arrives to complement Claro Empresas' range of options and be another alternative to facilitate the day-to-day lives of entrepreneurs, concentrating several services that have synergy in a single supplier.
“Claro Empresas aims to offer convergent products for the best experience for all customers. The card machine meets this purpose, as it can be combined with all of Claro's connectivity services, in addition to relevant digital products to enhance and expand our customers' businesses”, says Douglas Bego, director of Claro Empresas.
Even though it is available for different segments of industry and commerce, Small and Medium-sized Companies should benefit from easy-to-hire solutions. According to a survey by Sebrae based on the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ) of the Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB), Brazil has an average of 2,300 new SME business registrations per day, and a representation in the country that moved 30% of GDP in 2023. To support all small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in their specificities and business segments, Fiserv solutions made available by Claro are complete with solutions that address mobility and digitalization, such as Android terminals that allow you to facilitate entrepreneur's life with applications inside the machines (SmartPOS) or even transforming the cell phone itself into an extension of payment terminals (Tap on Phone).
“This is our first partnership with a telecom operator in Brazil and we are optimistic about the possibility of bringing more opportunities to potential entrepreneurs among the operator's 86 million mobile customers. Claro has the advantage of its connection and capillarity, with coverage in 98% of Brazilian municipalities, serving different realities and social classes. Our ability to support retail payment challenges, combined with Claro's network quality, contributes to a more satisfactory and complete experience”, says Jorge Valdivia, General Manager at Fiserv in Brazil.
According to Mauricio Santos, executive director of Financial Services at Claro and Claro Pay, the offer was specially designed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, based on the strategic vision of Claro Pay products, of democratizing access to financial services. “The result is a very competitive product, with rates and conditions that fit the budget, practical and online management and compatible with different card brands, vouchers and payment methods, which will allow the customer to concentrate their operations on a single device”, explains.
