Claro to market Cisco's PBX cloud solution in Ecuador

América Móvil's subsidiary in Ecuador, Claro, will begin marketing Cisco's cloud PBX solution.
Both companies created a similar alliance covering Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Central America.
“We have been very successful with the penetration of the service in these markets. The interest of clients is demonstrated because they are really looking for this type of solutions. They are looking for flexibility and stability, and we are very confident that we will see the success we saw in other countries here in Ecuador,” Marcelo Maneiro, Cisco's collaboration technology leader for Latin America, told BNamericas.
The solution is based on Cisco's Webex platform and hosted in the company’s datacenters. It “goes much further because it allows adding other types of communications such as messaging or generating collaboration spaces,” Byron Añazco, data and content manager at Claro Ecuador, told BNamericas.
Cisco, whose regional datacenter is in Brazil, is a global cloud PBX leader. According to market research firm MRFR, this market will grow 24.4% annually to US$68.4bn in 2030.
Claro will offer Cisco’s product to business clients. Currently, Claro provides connectivity to over half of Ecuador’s companies.
According to Añazco, companies mainly acquire the solution to improve efficiency.
Claro carries out the consultative process, complementing it with its telephone trunk, security and equipment service. It also offers integration, installation and support.
Claro is Cisco’s first partner in Ecuador for the commercialization of this product. If successful, the alliance could deepen. “We are working with Claro in other countries as well to have this offer,” Añazco said.
