Clifford Chance advises IDB Invest on landmark US $1 billion securitisation in Latin America and the Caribbean
Press Release By Clifford Chance
Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised IDB Invest, the private sector arm of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), on a US$1 billion securitisation transaction that is the first of its kind for enabling private investors to buy multilateral development bank (MDB) assets from Latin America and the Caribbean.
The securitised portfolio includes assets from 20 countries and 10 sectors, including corporates, infrastructure, energy and financial institutions, and by accessing capital in the private sector the transaction helps scale impactful investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Clifford Chance team was led by Derivatives & Structured Products Partners Tim Cleary (London) and Gareth Old (New York), who were supported by Konstantinos Voulgarakis (Senior Associate, London) and Mariana Cruz (Senior Associate, London).
