Mata de Palma, which was developed by BAS Corporation and built by Dominion, allowed the generation of approximately 250 direct and indirect jobs, as well as subcontractors that allow the operation of the park to meet international quality standards.

“With the acquisition and operation of Mata de Palma, CMI Energía marks its beginning in the Caribbean and, especially, in the Dominican Republic. Mata de Palma supplies clean energy and allows the country to feed its high level of economic growth, as pointed out by the Dominican Government, of having 25% of its electricity generation from non-conventional renewable sources ”, highlighted Enrique Crespo, CEO of CMI Capital .

He also pointed out: “CMI Energía will continue to work in all its geographies, as it has done over the years, with the highest quality standards, respect for Human Rights and a strong commitment to the care, protection and conservation of the environment and natural resources. Through our total generation of renewable energy, we avoid the emission of more than 1.5 million tons of CO2 per year and with this, we contribute to mitigating climate change. Specifically in the Dominican Republic, with the generation of Mata de Palma, the emission of approximately 60,800 tons of CO2 is avoided annually, which shows our great environmental commitment to the country ”.

The launch of Mata de Palma adds to the milestones that CMI has achieved over 100 years. Since 2002, CMI has acquired Grupo Malla, a highly renowned company that has participated for decades in the Dominican market. Therefore, through our business units we seek to be an active part, from a role of change agents in the region, and now in the Dominican Republic, through our ability to generate investments that positively impact economic, environmental and economic approaches. social ”, indicated Crespo.
