CNE and Energía 2000 sign definitive concession contract

Santo Domingo, RD (01-27-2022)- The Dominican State, represented by the National Energy Commission (CNE), and the company Energía 2000, SA, signed this Thursday afternoon the definitive concession contract to build the plant of electricity generation Manzanillo Power Land, which will have a generating capacity of 414 net megawatts (MW).
The contract for the combined cycle thermal plant was signed by Messrs. Edward Veras Díaz, executive director of the CNE, and by Jaime Andrés Santana Bonetti, director of the company Energía 2000.
Veras Díaz highlighted the importance of the Manzanillo Power Land project that will have a capacity of 360 MW, about 414 net and 432 nominal MW, which will be located in the municipality of Manzanillo, Pepillo Salcedo, province of Monte Cristi.
The official stressed that the work will have great significance for the province of Monte Cristi, because in addition to the energy it will generate, it will be a source of employment for hundreds of families in the area.
The director of the CNE pointed out that the plant that will work with natural gas is a sign of the confidence of the private electricity sector in the authorities of the government headed by President Luis Abinader.
The manager of the company, Mr. Jean-Christophe Bestaux Reinert, thanked the CNE and other authorities for facilitating the signing of the definitive concession contract for the construction of the Manzanillo Power Land.
The contract signed by the CNE, on behalf of the State, with the company Energía 2000, for the construction of the plant in Manzanillo has a term of 30 years.
