Bnamericas
The US$250mn, 310MW Termofortaleza thermoelectric project in northeast Brazil's Ceara state will sell power to local distributor Coelce at a price of 150 reais (US$52.60)/MWh under the terms of a take-or-pay contract, Endesa Spain's Brazil manager Marcelo Llevenes told BNamericas. Endesa Spain owns both the project and the distributor. State energy company Petrobras and Ceara state gas distributor Cegas will supply gas to the project, which is part of the federal government's thermoelectric priority plan. Commercial operations are scheduled for December.
