
Colombia awards preliminary works for Café Airport

The company Obrascón Huarte Laín S.A. OHL S.A. In development of this Public Call, the companies Constructora Meco SA Colombia Branch, Sudamericana Integral de Construcciones - SUDINCO SA, Obrascón Huarte Laín SA Colombia Branch, SP Ingenieros S.A.S. and AEROPAL Consortium made up Coninsa Ramon H S.A. and PROCOPAL S.A. companies.
The total value of the winning offer is $141,108,730,419, with an estimated term of 816 calendar days, as of April 14, 2021.
The Minister of Transportation Ángela María Orozco highlighted the importance of the award of these works, the use of the Standard Specifications and the transparent process with which this public call was developed and evaluated, allowing the choice of a firm with good capacity and experience to undertake These works, which are essential to be able to have the land graded where the runway and buildings of the Café Airport will be built.
The General Director of AEROCIVIL Juan Carlos Salazar Gómez expressed his satisfaction at obtaining this new achievement, as a result of the joint and well-articulated work that the Nation, AEROCIVIL and the Department of Caldas have been doing since the beginning of the Government of President Iván Duque.
With this award, the National Government takes a new step to make the Café Airport a reality, a commitment acquired with the country and in particular with Caldas and the Coffee Region region.
For his part, the Governor of Caldas Luis Carlos Velásquez celebrated the achievement of this new milestone, thanked President Duque for his firm support of the AEROCAFÉ project and reiterated the importance of these investments in the process of economic reactivation of Caldas.
