Colombia awards supervision contract for Cartagena airport expansion

Colombia awarded the Aéreo GEA consortium a nine-year contract to supervise the expansion of Rafael Núñez airport in Cartagena, infrastructure agency ANI said on social media.

The consortium is made up of GOC Ingeniería and Ardanuy Surcursal Colombia.

A total of 36 offers were submitted. The contract is worth around 24bn pesos (US$6mn).

Last November, ANI awarded Termotécnica Coindustrial the concession contract for the expansion, renovation and operation of the airport, at a cost of around US$233mn.

The works include a new 17,360m2 terminal building and the remodeling of 2,814m2 of the current terminal, and maintenance of the control tower and some offices, along with infrastructure repairs.

They also include the construction of 11,683m2 of parking space with capacity for 330 vehicles and a road parallel to the runway, among other things.
