Colombia gives green light for US$280mn road corridor modifications

Colombian environmental authority ANLA approved modifications to the US$280mn Avenida Longitudinal de Occidente Alo Sur project, a strategic route for access to Bogotá from the southwest.

The project involves construction of a new two-lane road parallel to the existing corridor, ANLA said in a statement.

Works are in the pre-construction stage and are in the hands of Estructura Plural ALO Sur. It is estimated that the route will be operational in 2028.

Alo Sur is part of a portfolio of infrastructure projects known as 5G. The concession is for 30 years.
