Colombia grants license for 200MW solar project
Colombian licensing authority ANLA has approved an environmental license for the 200MW El Espino solar project in the country's north.
The project is being developed by Planta Solar Sahagún and is earmarked for the municipalities of Sahagún, Ciénaga de Oro and Pueblo Nuevo in Córdoba department, according to an ANLA statement.
"Among the aspects considered were hydrology, hydrogeology, land use, landscape, air quality, fragmentation and ecological connectivity, as well as the management and monitoring measures established in the environmental management plan," the entity said.
ANLA said it would "monitor and control" the construction phase of the project to verify compliance.
The project will be built on an area covering 833ha and will include 5,427 photovoltaic modules plus a 34.5/500kV booster substation, it added.
