Colombia launches tender for Cartagena transmission works
Colombia has called for bids for power transmission works in the Caribbean port city of Cartagena as it pushes forward with plans to reinforce electricity supply in the country's north.
The project comprises a 500/220kV, 450MVA substation at the ISA-owned Bolívar substation, according to documents published by energy ministry planning unit UPME.
The successful bidder will be awarded a 25-year concession contract to design, build, operate and maintain the infrastructure, which is due online on June 30, 2026.
Interested companies or consortiums have until February 6 to present technical and economic proposals, with envelopes slated for opening no more than 10 business days later.
Offers in a bidding process for a supervisory contract are due on December 18, the results of which will be announced 10 days later.
