Colombia pushes back bid deadline for US$600mn Bogotá corridor

Those interested in submitting offers for the 2.5tn-peso (US$626mn) green corridor project in Bogotá may do so until October 2, according to the new deadlines established by Colombia’s urban development agency IDU.

The project, on Carrera Séptima avenue, includes three tenders, details of which can be seen here with process numbers IDU-LP-DG-003-2023, IDU-LP-DG-004-2023 and IDU-LP-DG-005-2023.

The tenders were launched August 1. Originally, offers were to be received on September 18 but IDU said that the deadline was extended to address all the observations received.

The works involve transforming the road link into a corridor with 100% electrified public transport, exclusive lanes for buses, cycle paths and public squares.

The contracts are due to be awarded October 25-27.

Along with line No. 1 of the Bogotá metro, the green corridor is considered one of the emblematic works for the Colombian capital and is among the key issues in the race for Bogotá mayor ahead of elections to be held in October.

The three candidates currently leading the polls – Gustavo Bolívar, Juan Daniel Oviedo and Juan Fernando Galán – have all said they will make modifications to the project.
