Colombia roundup: Airport PPP resources, Atlántico works, new justice building
Airport PPP resources
Colombia's infrastructure agency ANI will allocate 507 billion pesos (US$130 million) to 13 municipalities to invest in infrastructure and transportation.
In a statement, ANI said the resources are coming from the revenues generated by airports operating under the PPP model and will be disbursed this month.
It added that the resources are of new roads and improvements of infrastructure related to public transport and mass transit systems that link to airports.
With nearly 305bn pesos, El Dorado international airport, serving Bogotá, is the biggest contributor. These resources will go to Bogotá and Funza.
Cartagena's Rafael Núñez airport follows with 72.1bn pesos, Palmira's Alfonso Bonilla Aragón facility with 63.4bn pesos and Rionegro's José María Córdova with 46.9bn pesos.
The balance is coming from Ernesto Cortissoz airport in Barranquilla, Los Garzones in Montería, and others.
Atlántico Works
The transport ministry will invest over 312bn pesos in infrastructure and transportation in Atlántico department by year-end.
Minister William Camargo told reporters that issues related to licenses and technical discussions have been resolved with the concessionaire to begin works at the Caracolí road intersection, which will demand 13bn pesos.
Additionally, the pre-feasibility of the Ernesto Cortissoz airport expansion is being evaluated.
