ANI statement
This is an automated translation of the press release issued in Spanish
In compliance with the commitments agreed upon last July at a working table developed with authorities and representatives of different sectors of the department of Nariño by the Minister of Transportation, María Constanza García Alicastro, the president of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), Francisco Ospina Ramírez and in joint work with the governor of Nariño, Luis Alfonso Escobar, the addendum was signed to begin the preparation of the studies for the construction of the second roadway between Catambuco and Pasto.
This progress comes after several working meetings with the Concessionaire and Supervision in which it was agreed to carry out the analysis of alternatives for this second roadway with the purpose of choosing the best layout option once aspects such as the least impact on property, networks installed in the area, possible new structures to be designed, identification of communities in the sector, among others, are identified.
Subsequently, the National Environmental Licensing Authority -ANLA- will be consulted on the required environmental procedure and finally this alternative will be taken to definitive designs. It is estimated that the route will be defined and environmental consultations will begin in approximately 4 months. With these efforts, inputs will be obtained to advance with the materialization of this essential project for the Nariño region.
