Colombian telco ETB launches fiber optics tender study

Colombian state telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogotá (ETB) launched a tender for a study on the use of metropolitan fiber encompassing over 293km of networks.

The request for information/request for quotation study call focuses on the hiring of 2-strand dark fiber services in the irrevocable right of use modality and separate but integrated routes, divided into seven lots.

One lot covers the localities of Soacha and Fusagasugá, spanning 64.3km, and another spans 28.4km and relates to a connection between Fusagasugá and Chinauta.

The other lots being considered are Chinauta-Girardot (56km), Girardot-Tocaima (38.6km), Tocaima-Apulo (15.4km), Apulo-La Mesa (31.2km), and La Mesa-Bogotá/Fontibón (58.5km).

"ETB informs that the bidder must consider that before delivery, a site survey must be conducted at the node that ETB defines, in order to assess the fiber route and determine the quantities of materials to be used, in accordance with the location of equipment previously indicated by ETB, to ensure optimal and safe implementation," the tender documents said.
