Consortium lands Ecuador hydro contract

Ecuadorian state power generation holding company Celec has awarded the contract to supervise the detailed engineering, civil works construction, and equipment supply, installation and testing for the 115MW Delsitanisagua hydro, BNamericas has learned. The winner is Asociación Artelia Ville Et Transport-Geodata-Adeplan-Ingeconsult, one of four groups that submitted offers for the US$14.5mn, 42-month contract. Celec and Hydrochina signed the contract to build Delsitanisagua in October 2011 with operations penciled in to begin in 2015. The plant in Zamora Chinchipe province a will connect to the national transmission system via a 36km line at the Yanacocha substation in the city of Loja.
