Construction of Mexico City elevated trolleybus line enters final stage

The government of Mexico City is rushing to finish construction of trolleybus line No. 10, which will run from Constitución de 1917 metro station to Santa Martha, before year-end.

The city’s works and services department (Sobse) is reportedly finishing the stretch connecting the Santa Martha terminal in Iztapalapa municipality with the rest of the line.

According to the city’s general director of electric transport services, Martín López Delgado, tests were recently carried out along the finished stretch of the line, with the participation of Sobse officials and representatives from building contractors IIIMSA CUPISA and GAMI.

The works on the final stretch are expected to be finished in December but operations will not start until 2025.

The elevated trolleybus line is also due to be linked to the route that will run from Santa Martha to Chalco in Mexico State.

Line 10 will have 12 stations and run along the city’s outer beltway.
