Construction of US$100mn El Salvador logistics park to begin in August
Grupo Ternova will begin construction of a US$100mn logistics park in El Salvador next month, according to local media.
The park will be located in Nejapa municipality and will have four industrial warehouses between 17,700m2 and 34,700m2 in size. It will also have two-lane internal roads for transportation of containers and light-vehicle traffic.
Construction is expected to start on August 15 and will be completed in 2025, but the first industrial warehouse could be ready within 12 months, Ternova said in a press conference on Thursday.
According to the company, US$80mn of the total cost will be invested in construction and US$20mn will be for technology and equipment.
Ternova CEO Rodrigo Tona said that the aim of the park is to enable the transportation of freight without affecting urban areas in a location that can be quickly and easily reached from other freight-handling facilities. He added that it will be ideal for companies that operate in e-commerce.
