Consultancy call issued for Ecuador-Peru power link
Plans are advancing to further link the power grids of Ecuador and Peru.
Ecuador's state power corporation Celec seeks a firm to update the baseline survey and complementation of the resettlement plan for the country's side of the 500kV interconnection.
The work includes gathering data on the people affected by the construction of transmission lines and drafting and executing a public consultation plan.
Expressions of interest for the IDB-financed US$2.39mn, 420-day contract are due by March 28, according to the procurement notice available in the Documents box in the top right of the screen.
BNamericas recently reported that environmental documents were submitted for the Peru side of the link.
A limited interconnection, the 220kV Zorritos-Machala line, exists between the countries to help guarantee supply during dispatch shortfalls.
