Costa Rica launches fuel terminal works tender
Costa Rica’s state refiner Recope has issued a call for bids to build a new fire control system at the company’s Caribbean fuel import terminal.
The operator has budgeted 5.56bn colones (US$9.34mn) for the project, which includes dismantling the existing system, excavation to install piping and electrical cable, and supplying accessories and equipment.
The contractor will have 235 days to carry out the work, offers for which are due by October 1, according to procurement information available here using number 2020LN-000004-0016700102.
The terminal at Moin port includes a dock which can receive vessels of up to 60,000DWT and an adjoining dock that is in the ramp-up phase and will handle vessels of up to 80,000DWT.
Recope also envisions a Pacific import terminal to increase energy security and decentralize stock of the Caribbean terminal.
