Crown Point wastewater plant design pre-qual closes Jan.14

Expressions of interest to consult on the design to expand a wastewater plant in Trinidad & Tobago's Crown Point are due January 14, an official from the islands' water and sewerage authority WASA told BNamericas. The official said the contract will run about six months, at the end of which tenders for the works would be launched. The Inter-American Development Bank financed project feasibility studies in 1992 that pegged the plant's price tag at some US$32.2mn. The official added that the UK's Thames water has been awarded a contract to update the figure, and should begin the new studies in the coming weeks, with results expected in two months.
