CSN changes date of shareholders' meeting

Brazilian steelmaker CSN will hold an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on April 29 and has changed the date of its general shareholders' meeting to the same day, the company said in a statement to securities regulators CVM. The general shareholders meeting had been scheduled for April 4. At the meeting shareholders will vote on changes to the company's by-laws to create an audit committee. Shareholders will also vote to approve payment of dividends and interest on capital. New members to the company board will also be elected and directors' pay will be set for 2005. Sao Paulo-based CSN has installed production capacity of 6Mt/y. The company also owns the Casa de Pedra and Pedreira da Bocaina iron ore mines.
