CVG to supply 1,800t of aluminum to Westalca

Venezuelan aluminum producer CVG will supply some 1,800t of sheet metal over the next two years to aluminum transformer Westward International Aluminium (Westalca), which has supply contracts for construction projects abroad, Westalca said in a statement. The material, which will be produced at CVG's Alcasa and Venalum divisions, will be used in the construction of expansion projects for clients US Magnesium in the US and the Nordural aluminum plant in Iceland. "Westalca will be busy for the next 22 to 24 months because besides these projects we have to continue with our alloy production supply to the local market," Westalca president Francisco Castro said in the statement. Westalca, which is based in Puerto Ordaz in Venezuela's Guayana region, supplies Venezuela's market with ingots used for producing electrical connectors, lamps and pots.
