Dell EMC expands production in Brazil

US IT infrastructure firm Dell EMC has added the VxRail hyperconvergent appliance equipment to local production at its Hortolândia plant in Brazil.
With that, local manufacturing now includes four server models (Dell EMC VxRail E, P, V and S Series), integrated with the 14th generation of Dell EMC PowerEdge line.
The company expects that the local production of VxRail will reduce the delivery time of convergent infrastructure projects in the country by up to 50%.
"Local production of VxRail appliances reinforces Dell EMC's commitment to Brazil, which remains a priority market for the company, and the strategy to position the company as the best-equipped supplier to help companies in the digital transformation," said Fabio Gordon, Dell EMC Brasil sales executive for converged platforms.
In addition to the VxRail portfolio, the Hortolândia factory produces computers (desktops, laptops, all-in-ones, workstations and 2-in-1 equipment), servers and storage solutions. The production in Hortolândia supplies exclusively the Brazilian market.
According to IDC's 3Q17 converged systems tracker report, Dell EMC led the global hyper convergent infrastructure systems sales, with 31% market share and 158% growth year-over-year.
