Bnamericas
A World Bank (WB) mission has arrived in Brazil's Federal District (DF) for a two-week visit to discuss possible bank financing for a US$115mn environmental recovery program, the DF government reported. The program - "Programa Brasília Sustentable" - aims to clean and protect water resources, find new water sources and properly dispose of solid waste. State water utility Caesb would help carry out the program's waterworks components. A financing contract could be signed in the first half of next year. The DF, which encompasses federal capital Brasília and the surrounding area, has some 2 million residents.
