Dia Bras calculates 1Mt grading 2.8% Cu and 10% Zn at Bolívar

Montreal-based Dia Bras Exploration (TSX- DIB) has calculated a resource of 1Mt grading 2.8% copper and 10% zinc at its Bolívar mine property in northern Mexico's Chihuahua state, the company's consultant Dr Thomas Robyn told a conference call on Friday. The 1Mt includes 530,000t grading 3.8% copper and 13.3% zinc, which itself includes a further 101,000t grading 6.5% copper and 23% zinc. However, recent research indicates that there is a lot of potential to increase this resource, Robyn said. "By going through this data compilation and reviewing the cross sections through the mine area, we have identified about 2.7Mt of untested skarn just in the immediate mine area," he said. "The company is currently drilling portions of this in a resource expansion program." Dia Bras is commissioning a mill at Bolívar, where it currently has a capacity of 100t/d. During the first 14 days of March, the mill processed 1,141t and the company is expecting a throughput of 2,500t for all of March and 3,500t in April.
