Disappointing ERAS receives one offer

Bnamericas
Eras, the water utility serving Colombia's Cordoba department, has received one offer in its search to find an operator, Eras' general manager Maria Espitia told BNamericas. Although at least three groups bought bidding rules, only one consortium submitted an offer for the 20-year concession by the February 23 deadline. "This is disappointing," Espitia said. The local consortium includes Centro Aguas, Obsa, and Aguas del Norte among others. A decision about whether to award the contract to the consortium or to abandon the process would be made March 23. The renewable concession contract is aimed at improving waterworks service and coverage in Cordoba, which ranges from 50% to 90%.
