Distriluz Group companies will invest S/253 million in smart grid infrastructure by 2025

The following is a machine translation of a Distriluz release
The electric companies of the Distriluz Group, Enosa, Ensa, Hidrandina and Electrocentro, committed to providing a quality service to their customers, will invest S/ 253 million for the implementation of the smart electrical distribution network ( Smart Grid) in their service areas. This investment has been carried out since 2018, with a current progress of 69%, projecting to complete 100% in 2025.
This investment corresponds to the execution of 31 projects related to the implementation of smart metering systems, automation of electric power distribution, integration of all power substations and power plants into the SCADA system, as well as the modernization of the public lighting system.
In 2023, the Distriluz Group companies achieved 100% implementation of the year's schedule for the improvement of the public lighting system with the installation of 77 thousand LED lights, as well as the performance of preventive maintenance, reducing complaints about failures in public lighting and thus contributing to citizen safety in the north and center of the country.
“Four LED remote management pilot projects have been completed; that is, 4,500 remotely managed luminaires that allow each LED luminaire to be remotely switched on, switched off and regulated in a simple way, monitoring the main electrical parameters and sending alerts in case of detecting malfunctions, all in real time,” reported the general manager of the Distriluz Group, Javier Muro Rosado.
Likewise, 100% of the 201 electrical power substations (SEP) that make up the infrastructure that supports the processes of generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy have been interconnected, in addition to 7,885 of the 10,376 units that will allow the automation of the distribution of electrical energy.
The next project to be implemented is the installation of 32 thousand smart meters with various communication technologies, which will guarantee the continuity of the electric service in the homes of users by allowing the service to be reconnected remotely, by being connected online and in real time.
With the implementation of the Smart Grid , electricity distribution will be bidirectional because consumers will be able to participate in the electricity grid market, managing their energy generation resources through solar panels or other renewable sources, said Muro Rosado, General Manager of Distriluz.
With this, the electricity companies of the Distriluz Group will modernize their electricity distribution and marketing system, for the benefit of their millions of users in the 11 regions where they are present.
