Dominica tops renewable energy index

Bnamericas
Dominica is the top-ranked jurisdiction of 22 in strategic advisory group Castalia's renewable energy islands index for the Caribbean, according to a company presentation. The overall score is derived from the enabling environment for renewable energy investments, renewable energy projects already implemented and pipeline of potential renewable energy projects. The British Virgin Islands (BVI) come in at number 22 of the index that does not include Cuba, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands due to insufficient information. By scoring variable, the highest and lowest ranked jurisdictions for the enabling environment were Jamaica and BVI; Belize and BVI for projects in place; and Montserrat and BVI for planned projects.
