The Dominican Government, through the National Energy Commission (CNE), signed a definitive concession contract with the company LCV Ecoener Solares Dominicana, SRL for the construction and operation of the Payita 2 Photovoltaic Solar Park, in Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez. The project will have an installed capacity of 49.98 nominal megawatts (MWn) and 60.04 peak megawatts (MWp), and stands out for integrating an advanced energy storage system.

This storage system will have a capacity of 15 megawatts (MW) and 60 megawatt hours (MWh), which will allow the energy generated by the park to be stored during peak production hours and supplied during times of high demand or low solar generation. This innovation will significantly improve the stability and reliability of the country's electricity supply.

CNE Executive Director Edward A. Veras Díaz highlighted the relevance of the storage system as a key advance for the country's energy security. "With this system, we not only optimize the use of solar energy, but we also strengthen the resilience of the electrical grid, contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable energy model in the Dominican Republic," said Veras.

For his part, Carlos González Pelicot, representative of the company LCV Ecoener Solares Dominicana, SRL, expressed the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.

The project, which will contribute to the diversification of the national energy matrix, is in line with the CNE resolutions that promote the adoption of storage systems in renewable energy projects. This reinforces the Dominican government's commitment to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting clean energy sources.

The signing of the concession contract took place at the CNE headquarters, with the participation of Mr. Edward A. Veras Díaz and Mr. Carlos González Pelicot, who signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
