Dominican Rep launches pumping station tender
Dominican Republic water utility CAASD has launched a tender for the construction of a wastewater pumping station in the Mirador Norte sector of capital Santo Domingo.
The pumping station is one of the components of the La Zurza wastewater treatment plant, construction of which is 80% complete.
Interested parties will be able to submit questions on the tender before June 12, while the deadline for CAASD's procurement and contracting unit to reply to the inquiries is June 22.
The deadline to submit bids has been scheduled for July 4. Only the economic offers of those bidders whose technical proposals were approved will be opened on July 11.
The process of reviewing economic bids is expected to be approved on July 13, with the award of the contract taking place soon after.
Construction of the pumping station must be concluded within 12 months.
Once complete, the Zurza wastewater treatment plant will serve to clean up the Ozama and Isabela rivers, benefitting around 450,000 residents.
