Dominican Republic enables more free public Wi-Fi

Dominican Republic telecoms regulator Indotel started operations of 15 public Wi-Fi points across the country.

In Barahona province, two points were installed to provide internet in a park and school, which will also benefit from a fiber connectivity project for the southern region.

Last week, Indotel started operations of 13 free Wi-Fi points in San Pedro de Macorís province. The points are installed in educational centers, recreational places and public institutions.

Additional points were launched at a higher technical institute in San Luis, Santo Domingo Este.

More than 1,300 free Wi-Fi spots are in operation in the country.
