Ecopetrol to auction 13 fields

Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol opened the bidding process Monday for the sale of 13 small and medium-sized oil fields to the highest bidder, state news service CNE reported. Technical information is available through the bidding deadline, October 31. The fields on offer are Barranca-Lebrija, Pavas, La Rompida, Nancy-Burdine-Maxine Carbonera, Rio de Oro, Puerto Barco, Camoa, Chenche, El Dificil, and Hato Nuevo, and are open to domestic and international investors, who will be able to bid for more than one field. Contracts will take effect as of January 1.
