Ecuador issues geothermal project consultancy call
Ecuador’s state power corporation Celec launched bidding to advance the 50MW Chachimbiro geothermal project.
The work entails conducting an analysis of water sources and the design of collection, conduction and storage works for drilling platforms.
Celec highlights that the plant will require a flow of 16.7 liters per second.
The contract also includes securing the productive water use authorization from the environment ministry and obtaining environmental permits and carrying out public engagement.
Information is available here and bids may be submitted to andres.maldonado@celec.gob.ec
Celec also has bidding underway to design Chachimbiro’s first-phase civil works, and field development phase and work supervision.
Start-up of what would be Ecuador’s first geothermal power plant is envisioned for 2028.
