Eight interested in Tuxpan V

Eight groups purchased bidding rules by the October 31 deadline for a contract to build and operate the 431-527MW Tuxpan V combined cycle thermoelectric project in Mexico's Veracruz state, a source with state power company CFE told BNamericas. The source characterized the interest as "good," and said large international companies that frequently participate in such contracts are involved, though it declined to name them. Technical offers will be opened November 6, and economic offers will be revealed December 11. The contract winner will build and operate the plant, selling energy to CFE for 25 years.
