EIS submitted for US$184mn Chile hospital concession
An environmental impact study (EIS) has been submitted for the new national cancer institute planned for Chilean capital Santiago, which states that construction of the US$184mn concession project is expected to start next year.
The project entails a total area of 91,222m2, which includes the main hospital complex (62,387m2), exterior areas (17,995m2), a shelter (1,341m2), a daycare center (3,050m2) and facilities for fuel tanks and technical components (5,000m2), among other features, according to the study submitted by OHLA-owned concessionaire Sociedad Concesionaria Instituto Nacional del Cáncer.
The new hospital will be located in Santiago’s Independencia district and works are expected to start in August 2025 and operations by August 2030.
