Elektro signs R$ 173m power-supply deal with Cesp

Brazilian electricity distributor Elektro has signed a R$ 173 million ($1 = R$ 2.93) contract with power generator Companhia Energética de Sao Paulo (Cesp). According to the agreement Cesp will supply 295MW of energy to 2004 at R$ 77.00 per MW. Elektro supplies electricity to 1.7 million residential, industrial and commercial consumers in 228 municipalities in Sao Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul states. By Aline Cury Zampieri
