Eleoccidente invests US$279,000 in Acarigua II transformer

Bnamericas
The Eleoccidente subsidiary of Venezuelan state transmission and distribution giant Cadafe invested 600mn bolívares (US$279,000) installing a new transformer at the Acarigua II substation in Portuguesa state, Cadafe said in a statement. The work was completed April 19. With this and similar upgrades "the rationing [of electric service] that was occurring in several municipalities of the Portuguesa region will diminish," Cadafe said. Blackouts and brownouts in rural areas of Venezuela are frequent and service and maintenance stoppages are seldom announced beforehand. Construction work on a 230Kv line linking Acarigua-Guanare-Barinas is on schedule and will be completed soon, the statement said. Cadafe has six subsidiaries serving different areas of Venezuela. It operates 15,000km of power lines and has 4,000MW installed capacity.
