Eleven bidders vie for the rehabilitation works of the Graneros del Sur route

A total of 9 companies and two consortiums presented their proposals today to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) in the National Public Tender for the rehabilitation of the Graneros del Sur route, in the department of Itapúa.

The work connects the towns of Carmen del Paraná, Fram, La Paz and Capitán Miranda and directly benefits more than 35,000 people in its direct area of influence.

The project, divided into two lots, seeks not only to improve road infrastructure, but also to boost logistics efficiency in a key area for the country's agricultural production. Lot 1 will cover 35.4 km from Carmen del Paraná to La Paz, while Lot 2 will extend 23 km from La Paz to Capitán Miranda.

The tender includes an innovative component: each company will be able to be awarded only one lot, thus promoting competition and diversification in the execution of the project.

Beyond asphalt, rehabilitation contemplates a comprehensive approach, ranging from drainage systems and road safety to environmental preservation. The execution time of 12 months per lot promises a rapid transformation of the region's road landscape.
