Emthos Engenharia submitted the lowest bid in a Petrobras’ tender for the contracting of technical engineering services and preparation of conceptual, basic and executive projects for its Amazon exploration and production unit (UN-AM).

The company's offer was 18.9 million reais (US$3.49mn), beating Sandech Consultoria em Engenharia e Gestao’s bid of around 19mn reais.

With 30 years of operations, Emthos has clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, energy, pulp and paper and food businesses, including Petrobras, 3R Petroleum, Acelen, Petrorecôncavo, Actemium and Copagaz.

Another 17 companies submitted proposals. The list with their names and bids is available in the Documents box in the top-right corner.

A new tender may be launched if Petrobras cannot reach an agreement with the company selected as the winner of the process.

The contract also includes support and management of equipment and piping, civil and industrial safety work, instrumentation, processing, electrical, planning and automation projects.

The selected firm will also provide studies, such as flexibility and structural analysis, and electrical system modeling and simulations.

The services will be carried out in Amazonas state capital Manaus and in Coari, where Petrobras operates several E&P concessions, including the Urucu hub in the Solimões basin, which is Brazil’s main onshore oil and gas producer.
