ENDE Parent company plans to invest Bs 1,698 million in generation, transmission and distribution in 2024

The National Electricity Company (parent ENDE) plans to invest the sum of Bs 1,698.6 million during fiscal year 2024. These resources will be allocated to the development of key projects in the areas of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity to strengthen capacity of electricity supply of the country.
With the nationalization of companies in the electrical sector, ENDE Corporación has control over the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. It is made up of ENDE Parent, eleven subsidiary companies and one subsidiary.
According to the breakdown of investments planned by ENDE Parent for the current period, it is planned to allocate a total of Bs 1,698.6 million, distributed as follows: 86.6% (Bs 1,471.3 million) will be directed to generation, 2.6% (Bs 44.8 million) will be allocated to distribution, and 10.7% (Bs 182.5 million) will be directed to the transmission system.
The data provided by ENDE indicate that the investment program covers the construction of the Ivirizu Hydroelectric Generation Plant in Cochabamba, with a production capacity of 290.2 megawatts (MW) and an estimated investment of Bs 530.7 million.
Likewise, the projected resources contemplate the construction of the Río Miguillas Hydroelectric Power Plant in La Paz, with a generation capacity of 204.8 MW and a planned investment of Bs 414.1 million. Another project in the execution phase is the Warnes II Wind Farm in Santa Cruz, contributing 45 MW to the National Interconnected System (SIN) through an investment of Bs 256.3 million.
Initiatives also stand out such as the Los Troncos-San Ignacio de Velasco electrical transmission project, in Santa Cruz, with a length of 232 kilometers and a projected investment of Bs 181.5 million. This project will increase electrical transmission capacity to meet growing demand.
In addition, the investment plan includes improvements in the supply of electrical energy in Riberalta (10.5 MW) with an investment of Bs 35 million, while other projects total Bs 280 million.
