On Wednesday (February 12), Energisa Group announced robust investments of R$6.2 billion for 2025, in line with the investments made in 2024. The distribution of electricity in 11 states in Brazil, the Group's core business , will continue to receive the majority of the resources. “In the year in which Energisa Group celebrates its 120th anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to offering quality energy, with a unique operational model focused on excellence and continuous improvement,” says Ricardo Botelho, CEO of Energisa Group.
“Energisa’s journey is marked by its entrepreneurial DNA, visionary and pioneering spirit, as well as the expansion and diversification of its businesses. This is clearly illustrated by the company’s history, especially over the last 25 years. Over this short period, we have consolidated our expertise in successful turnarounds and accumulated experience in operating in new segments, in-depth knowledge of the nuances of the energy sector and the profiles of our customers. We have diversified our businesses, with an emphasis on electrons, molecules and bytes, promoting the energy transition and economic development of the regions where we operate, in addition to dedicating ourselves to offering the best energy solution for our customers,” concludes Ricardo.
The electricity distribution segment will receive the largest share of the investments, approximately R$5.5 billion, which represents 88% of the total CAPEX forecast for the period. Approximately 42% of these resources will be allocated to connect new consumers, including those from the Luz Para Todos and Mais Luz para a Amazônia programs, which will receive almost R$446 million to connect new units powered by renewable photovoltaic generation systems in the states of Rondônia, Acre, Tocantins and Mato Grosso. Also noteworthy are the concession areas of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rondônia, located in regions with strong growth in demand for electricity and which, therefore, occupy the top places in the allocation of resources.
Investments of R$279.5 million are planned for the Transmission sector in 2025, with emphasis on concessions in the State of Amazonas, which aim to improve electricity supply to the metropolitan region of Manaus. In 2024, (re)energisa, the Group's generation, commercialization, free market and value-added services arm, will continue the expansion cycle of the distributed generation business with planned investments of R$215 million, which currently has an installed capacity of 414 MWp.
In the gas business, ESGás and Agric, a biomethane and biofertilizer plant in Santa Catarina, will receive an investment of R$137.7 million this year, and the four natural gas distributors in the Northeast region (RN, CE, PE and AL) where Energisa Group holds a minority stake, are expected to invest R$208.9 million. Through these investments, Energisa Group fulfills its role of helping develop the gas segment in Brazil, expanding the distribution network and sharing its expertise in customer relations and operational management.
