Energisa opens new PV solar facilities in Brazil

Alsol Energias Renováveis has opened two PV solar power plants in Minas Gerais state, Brazil, the state government announced on Monday.
Located in the Triângulo Mineiro region, each unit has 6,480 PV panels with the capacity to generate enough energy to supply 6,000 households.
With the start-up of the plants, Alsol has now opened six facilities in Minas Gerais state this year, totalling 26MWp of installed capacity and involving 100mn reais (US$18.8mn) of investments.
The electric power generated by the two new solar plants will be consumed mainly by micro, small and medium-sized companies in the commercial and services sectors.
According to local solar association Absolar, Minas Gerais has the largest distributed PV solar power generation capacity in Brazil, totalling 737MW. The Triângulo Mineiro region concentrates the investments in the state, with Uberlândia being the leading municipality.
Alsol Energias Renováveis is part of the Energisa Group.
